Mr. Paul Stevenson currently convenes a content and language integrated learning course in critical thinking and teaches English for academic purposes classes in the English Language Centre. He previously worked as an IELTS Examiner and AEAS Test Day Supervisor. His research interests lie in two main areas: language testing and the washback effects of high stakes examinations, and the role of critical thinking in second-language learning. He graduated from the University of Sheffield with a bachelor’s degree in social policy and sociology and Swansea University with a master’s degree in teaching English as a foreign language. He has worked in education since 2008 and as an educator and examiner in China since 2010.
