研究领域为国际金融和国际贸易。最近的工作集中在国际宏观变量的微观基础，特别是外国直接投资在企业层面上的作用。对国际经济学和其它方向，例如发展经济学，劳动经济学的交叉领域也有兴趣。学术论文发表在经济学和金融学国际期刊上。于2011年在美国威斯康星大学获得经济学博士学位，入职北达科他大学，并于2017年拿到终身教职。于2018年加入中国科技大学。
