大脑是宇宙中最复杂的系统之一，我们对大脑工作机制的了解远低于我们对宇宙的了解。这主要是由研究工具和研究手段的欠缺造成的。我们以啮齿类动物和非人灵长类动物的视觉系统为研究对象，通过在活体动物上推进各种最先进成像、线路追踪和操作技术，从基因，分子，细胞到行为的各个层面，研究各类视觉相关的认知现象背后的神经机制
