The Lyu group focuses on the development of new reagents, catalytic systems and synthetic methodologies for the application in the late-stage functionalization of complicated bioactive molecules and streamline synthesis of functional materials and drug molecules. Initial research directions:​ 1. Methodologies involving transition metal catalysis and photo-/electro-catalysis 2. Design, preparation and property study of new organoboron compounds, including borylation reagents and boron-containing functional materials 3. Application of the newly developed organoboron reagents in the synthesis and late-stage functionalization of drug molecules
