主要研究方向为消化道肿瘤的发生发展机制，对近年肿瘤发生的新理论—肿瘤干细胞理论进行过相关研究，发现小肠及结直肠腺癌中干细胞基因musashi-1，survivn等基因过表达，化疗药奥沙利铂可杀死终末分化的肿瘤细胞，而由于肿瘤干细胞具有耐药的特性，使得化疗药物处理后，肿瘤干细胞相对富集，干细胞基因表达水平升高。
