1983年毕业于苏州大学数学系，1990年获华东师范大学理学硕士学位，2000年获南开大学理学博士学位，2000年-2002年在南京大学从事博士后工作。2001年晋升教授，现为苏州大学硕士生导师，常熟理工学院副院长。2004年被聘为校学术带头人、“基础数学学科”学科带头人，同年被选拔为江苏省青蓝工程中青年学术带头人。2007年被评为江苏省 "333高层次人才培养工程"中青年学术带头人。《中国科学》、《数学学报》和 《数学年刊》等杂志的特约审稿人，德国《数学文摘》与美国《数学评论》的特约评论员，常熟市科协副主席。苏州科技学院硕士研究生兼职导师。
