1982年1月毕业于华东化工学院化学工程系，获学士学位。1984年7月毕业于华东化工学院生物化工系，获硕士学位，1995年9月评为华东理工大学教授。1997年担任博士生导师。1998年享受国务院政府特殊津贴

1. 海洋生物技术。研究海洋病原微生物的特性，掌握其致病规律，在分子水平上阐明细胞通讯相关的条件致病现象，确定致病相关功能基因，从基因水平上进行改造，开发减毒活疫苗和多效价疫苗 2. 微生物工程。研究甲醇酵母基因诱导水平的精密控制网络，构建新的蛋白表达体系。通过基因重组微生物的高密度培养和基因调控，高表达重组产物，生产药用蛋白。在海洋微生物培养中，阐明丝状菌次级代谢调控的规律，调控菌丝形态，高效合成活性化合物
