1997年毕业于长春科技大学，2000年、2003年分别获得南京大学水文水资源专业硕士、博士学位。2003年11月份进入南京师范大学地图学与地理信息系统博士后流动站，进行地理机理模型动态模拟的研究工作。2005年12月出站后，到虚拟地理环境教育部重点实验室工作。
