于2019年12月作为一名副教授加入了南京大学 天文与空间科学学院。2017-2019年，他是法国 巴黎天文台 (默东校区) GEPI 实验室的一名 PSL fellow (巴黎文理大学 博士后学者)。2013-2016年，他是西班牙加那利天体物理研究所 (欧洲北方天文台总部) 的一名 IAC fellow 博士后学者。2008-2013年，他在英国哈特福德郡大学（直译：鹿津郡）天体物理研究中心攻读天体物理学博士学位，并做了一年博士后研究工作。2005-2008年，他在 云南天文台 和 中国科学院 大学 取得了天体物理学硕士学位。2000-2004年，他在烟台大学取得了应用物理学学士学位。张曾华出生于山东省 泰安市。
