Fei Li received her B. S. degree, M. S degree, and Ph. D degree in 1982, 1985 and 2000, respectively, in chemistry from Jilin University. She worked in Institute of Theoretical Chemistry of Jilin University since 1985 as an assistant professor (1985 – 1987), and a lecturer (1987 – 1992), and then jointed State Key Laboratory of Supramolecular Structure and Materials as an associate professor (1992 – 2001) and a professor (2001-present).

Structures of membrane proteins in membrane-mimic environments, interactions of membrane proteins with substrates and lipid membranes, aggregation of amyloid polypeptides and inhibition of fibrillation studied using spectroscopic and biophysical methods.
