1993年本科毕业于华南理工大学生物工程专业， 2004年博士毕业于华南理工大学生物化工专业，获工学博士学位； 2007年5月至7月在英国Warwick University进行合作研究，2010年5月至2011年5月公派至美国Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute从事生物质转化的研究。2011年入选 “教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划”。现任华南理工大学食品科学与工程学院食品生物工程研究所副所长。近年来，主要从事微生物资源的开发和利用、功能性纳米材料的制备和应用、生物质的高值化转化、油脂化工等方面的研究；承担过国家自然科学基金、教育部博士点新教师基金、广东省自然科学基金、广东省科技计划等项目10余项。已发表SCI(E)收录论文90余篇；申请中国发明专利13件，美国发明专利1件，获授权中国发明专利6件；出版教材2部；获广东省自然科学二等奖1项。
